We have the same setup that you're looking to buy. I think SR III has great
potential but at present you have to render everything! If you have 20
minutes of video on youe drive, when you render your projects on SR III, it
will duplicate everything. You can only fill your drive to 50% capacity to
leave room for the mirror that SR will create.
It's also kind of slow. I thought it would be faster. The reason it renders
your video again is to keep sync with the audio. If DPS gets their audio
board out soon it should take care of that problem. I also hear that they
are working on a PVR accelerator.
We are an animation company as well as a dealer for the above mentioned
products. Speed Razor has been very useful in editing animation but to it's
way too slow for NLE applications. I'm sure that will change with the new
